Trying to stay healthy during the holidays? Why not take this tasty alternative to your next office party or family meal? These Brussels Sprouts are not only delicious, but easy to make, too!

Recipe makes 4 servings

Brussels Sprouts:

  • 1 lb. Brussels sprouts
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Other Materials Needed:

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Foil-lined baking sheet

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water. Peel off the outer leaves and trim any stems that may be tough and fibrous.
  3. In a bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with the olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Transfer the Brussels sprouts to the baking sheet. Bake Brussels sprouts for 20 minutes (or until lightly browned), shaking the pan halfway through cooking.
  5. When cooked, transfer the Brussels sprouts to a bowl to cool for 5-10 minutes. While cooling, prepare the glaze.
  6. For the glaze, add all ingredients to a small saucepan.
  7. Cook, stirring over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
  8. Add glaze to the Brussels sprouts, stir to coat, serve and enjoy!
