Mountain Laurel Medical Center (MLMC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Maria Frantz, BSN, to Chief of Clinical Operations and Compliance (CCOC).
Maria earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Allegany College of Maryland in 2016 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Frostburg State University in 2021. She joined the Mountain Laurel team in May 2018 as a Nurse Care Coordinator in Grantsville. Since then, she has steadily advanced through leadership roles including Quality Improvement Coordinator (2020), Quality Services Manager (2021), and Director of Quality Services (2023).
Throughout her tenure, Maria has played an instrumental role in advancing MLMC’s quality initiatives. She has led efforts to secure the health center’s annual Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) designation and expanded the organization’s Value-Based Care Program. Through her quality oversight and data reporting, MLMC has consistently achieved HRSA Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) badges as a Health Center Quality Leader, earning Gold recognition in 2025, placing MLMC among the top 10% of health centers nationally.
In her new role as Chief of Clinical Operations and Compliance, Maria will provide executive leadership over nursing and clinical operations, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance across the organization. Serving as Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer, she will oversee MLMC’s compliance program and ensure adherence to federal and state requirements. She will also lead value-based care, risk management, accreditation, and population health efforts while working closely with executive leadership to advance MLMC’s Mission and quality goals.
“Maria’s journey at MLMC reflects her deep commitment to our Mission and the strength of developing leaders from within. She has played a pivotal role in improving our quality outcomes and strengthening our standing among health centers nationwide. We are proud to see her step into this executive role and confident in her leadership of our clinical and compliance efforts,” said CEO Michelle Dixon.
Maria’s promotion reflects MLMC’s ongoing commitment to advancing clinical performance, strengthening compliance and operational integrity, and delivering high-quality primary care to the communities it serves.
