Mountain Laurel Medical Center has once again distinguished itself as a top community health center in Maryland. The prestigious Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) badges, which are awarded based on data submitted in the annual Uniform Data System (UDS) report to the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), have recognized Mountain Laurel as a Health Center Quality Leader for the fourth consecutive year.
Mountain Laurel was one of only two Community Health Centers in Maryland to earn a Health Center Quality Leader badge. Alongside this achievement, Mountain Laurel received additional recognition by earning the Access Enhancer, Health Disparities Reducer, and Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) badges.
Since 2021, Mountain Laurel’s Oakland, Grantsville, and Westernport locations have each earned the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) designation with distinction in Behavioral Health. The PCMH model focuses on enhancing the patient-provider relationship through comprehensive and coordinated care. To achieve and maintain PCMH status, health centers must demonstrate compliance with rigorous standards, including increased access to care, effective care management, adherence to quality and safety measures, and a strong emphasis on patient engagement in their care.
Mountain Laurel CEO Brian Bailey said, “The achievement of this quality recognition in Maryland for the 4th year in a row validates the Mountain Laurel team efforts to improve our Community’s health. We continue to be honored with this recognition.”
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sarah Call said, “We are proud to be recognized again for our clinical outcomes and thank our team for their dedication to our patients and their quality.”
