Dr. Christopher Ferrell was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, and received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Florida State University. He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine while in medical school, the opportunity to learn from many different clinics/hospitals throughout the country. Dr. Christopher Ferrell completed his family medicine residency at WVU United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. During his residency, he had the opportunity to learn and implement Integrative Medicine modalities to better serve his patients, and he intends to incorporate these techniques into his care of patients at Mountain Laurel Medical Center. Dr. Christopher Ferrell’s goal and intent are to treat patients of all ages, particularly focusing on mental health. This has been a special interest of his since medical school. While in residency, he helped create a Behavioral Health Integration(BHI) program to better serve patients with financial, transportation, or severe mental health needs. His wife, son, daughter, are excited to begin a new mission in Garrett County and the surrounding area.
Daniel Buckingham, MD

Dr. Daniel Buckingham joined Mountain Laurel Medical Center in October 2016. He is board certified by the ABFM and is a member of the AAFP. After attending high school in Annapolis, MD, he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Religion from Grove City College in Grove City, PA. An interest in international health and medicine took him to Israel for medical school. While there he received a strong foundation in population health and cross-cultural medicine. In 2002, he earned is M.D. from Ben Gurion University in Beersheva, Israel. Upon returning to the US, he completed his residency in family medicine at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in northern Kentucky. After serving as the Chief Resident, he did an additional year of fellowship training in surgical obstetrics and women’s health care at St. Elizabeth. After serving as a faculty member for the family practice residency at St. Elizabeth, he came to Garrett County. In private practice for ten years, he has delivered family medicine and obstetric care at Garrett Regional Medical Center, where he also served in numerous leadership roles. Being raised in a military family, he grew up in many different states. He and his wife Mandy, along with their eleven children, are happy to call this area home.
Lydia Davis, DO

Dr. Lydia Davis is a board-certified Family Medicine physician. Dr. Davis attended medical school in Lewisburg, WV at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, after attending the University of Virginia where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Dr. Davis brings a strong background in Sports Medicine, Emergency and Wilderness Medicine, Behavioral Health and Mindfulness, Weight Loss and Obesity Treatment, Addiction Medicine, Integrative Practices, and much more! Dr. Davis grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania and Morgantown, WV. She enjoys spending her spare time at Snowshoe Ski Area, and Canaan Valley, WV, where she enjoys snow skiing, hiking, music, and trout fishing!

Jeffrey Bernstein, MD

Dr. Bernstein returned to Mountain Laurel Medical Center in September of 2022 as a medical provider dedicated to providing same-day acute care appointments. He previously worked at MLMC from 2011-2013. Dr. Bernstein graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Physics from Georgia Institute of Technology before earning his Medical Degree from the University of Maryland. He completed his residency at Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He has lived in Garrett County for the past 10 years and has previously lived in Omaha, Los Angeles, Nashau, Atlanta, Washington D.C., and Baltimore. In addition to MLMC, Dr. Bernstein has previously worked in the Emergency Department at Garrett Regional Medical Center (Oakland, MD), Mon General (Morgantown, WV), and Saint Joseph Medical Center (Towson, MD). Dr. Bernstein has his pilot’s license and also enjoys hiking and cycling. He and his wife have two grown sons and just celebrated 40 years of marriage. He is glad to be back at Mountain Laurel Medical Center providing high-quality patient-centered care!
Michelle Dixon, CRNP

Michelle joined Mountain Laurel Medical Center in June 2014 as the nursing supervisor. During her first year here, she decided to further her education and become a Family Nurse Practitioner. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fairmont State University in 2012, and completed her Masters of Science in Nursing from Walden University in February 2018. She is board certified nationally by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed by the state of Maryland. Prior to employment at Mountain Laurel she worked at Garrett Regional Medical Center. She is excited to be providing care to patients at this facility as a health care provider, as well as by continuing her current role as the Director of Nursing. She currently resides in Terra Alta, WV with her husband and two daughters.
Lori A. Gregory, CRNP

Lori joined Mountain Laurel Medical Center in August 2016. Lori is board certified nationally by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner and licensed by the state of Maryland. After graduation from Southern High School, Lori received her Associate of Science in nursing in 1998 from Allegany College of Maryland, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Frostburg State University in 2012, and Masters of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner track, from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2016. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM), and the Western Maryland AHEC Nurse Practitioner’s Caucus. Lori spent over 18 years working as a staff nurse and then as a patient care coordinator of long and short-term care and rehabilitation services. Areas of healthcare experience include managing treatment needs of dementia, wounds and ulcerations, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes mellitus. She provides acute care, management of chronic diseases, and preventative care. Lori is a Garrett County native. She and her husband, Jay, built their home in Oakland on her father’s farm where they raised three sons.
Jessica Meyers, CRNP

Jessica Meyers joined MLMC in May 2018 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed in the State of Maryland. Jessica is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and is ACLS and PALS certified. Jessica was raised in Cumberland, MD and moved to Garrett County when she was ten. She is a Southern High School graduate and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics at Marshall University in 2007 (Cum Laude). After starting her career in nutrition counseling and meal planning, Jessica furthered her clinical education and returned to Allegany College of Maryland to pursue nursing and graduated from an accelerated nursing program in 2008. Her nursing experience started at Western Maryland Health system, with a focus in cardiovascular patient care. She then transferred closer to home and began her career with Garrett Regional Medical Center to work in positions of surgical services and post-anesthesia care; intensive care; Supervisor of cardiac & pulmonary rehab and clinical coordinator. These services provided her with experience in preventative health, acute care and chronic disease. After achieving her Master’s Degree from Walden University in 2017 (Cum Laude), she worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Urgent Care and the local Emergency Department. She currently resides in Oakland, Maryland with her husband, Bryson and her two children. Jessica looks forward to serving her community’s health care needs.
Barbara Monn, MS, PA-C

Barbara joined Mountain Laurel Medical Center in 2008. Barbara is board certified nationally and by the State of Maryland as a Physician Assistant. She is a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants. She attended Alderson Broaddus College, receiving a Bachelor of Medical Science in 1980 and her Masters of Science in 2007. Barbara began her career in Neurosurgery in Charleston, WV. She was then recruited by a local surgeon, Dr. Joseph Alvarez. After nine years in general surgery, she switched to Pediatrics with the Children’s Medical Group in Cumberland, MD. Striving for more experience and knowledge, she went to Mountain View Regional Medical Center, Health South in Morgantown, WV, where her focus was Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She then joined Dr. Margaret Kaiser and later, Barbara joined the Mountain Laurel family. She feels the varied fields that she has practiced, along with a strong educational background, provides her with a good basis to handle the needs of her patients. Barbara was raised in Garrett County. She has one son and lives near Oakland with her husband Kevan.
Taylor Crabtree, CRNP

Taylor Crabtree joined MLMC in April 2019 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed in the state of Maryland. Taylor is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is ACLS certified by the American Heart Association. Taylor is a native of Garrett County. He graduated from Southern Garrett High School and completed an Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Allegany College of Maryland in 2010. His nursing experience started at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV where he spent eight years working in the Intensive Care Unit. During that time he finished his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at West Virginia University. He then transferred to WVU Medicine-Ruby Memorial Hospital and worked as a Resource Pool Nurse in a variety of settings including cardiovascular, oncology, neurology, trauma, and general medicine units. Taylor graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2018 with a Master’s Degree in Nursing. Taylor resides in Oakland with his wife, Hannah, and their son, Henry. In his spare time he enjoys spending time outdoors, waxing his truck, and spending time with family. Taylor is excited to return home to provide high-quality patient-centered care to the citizens of Garrett County and the surrounding area.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. She was raised in Kingwood, WV and currently resides there with her husband and their two children. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, camping, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She is happy to be a part of the MLMC family and is looking forward to providing high quality care to patients of all ages.
Kaylee Livengood, CRNP

Kaylee joined Mountain Laurel Medical Center in May 2023 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed in the state of Maryland. Kaylee is a native of Garrett County. She graduated from Southern Garrett High School and completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Frostburg State University. Kaylee then received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia in December 2018. Her nursing experience started on the orthopedic unit at Valley Health Winchester Medical where she also worked on a COVID-19 medical unit before moving home to Garrett County. Kaylee then worked at the Garrett County Health Department as a public health nurse. Kaylee graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing from Wheeling University in December 2022 and completed most of her clinical hours with providers at MLMC. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, loves spending time outdoors, going thrifting, gardening and crafts. Kaylee is looking forward to being able to provide health care to her community.
Melissa Scott, DO

Dr. Melissa Scott joined Mountain Laurel Medical Center in May 2023 as a Psychiatrist and the Medical Director of Behavioral Health. She is originally from the Hudson Valley of New York state. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from La Salle University in Philadelphia and received her D.O. Degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011. She completed her residency training at Ozark Center in Joplin, Missouri in 2017. She was awarded resident of the year in 2014 and served as Chief Resident in her 4th year of training. She recently completed specialized training to become certified in Perinatal Mental Health. She has worked throughout her career in Community Mental Health Centers and has experience with outpatient, residential, partial hospital, and Assertive Community Treatment services. Her husband is a child and adolescent psychiatrist. She currently lives in West Virginia with her husband and daughter.
Jessica Nice, MSW, LCSW-C

Jessica joined Mountain Laurel Medical Center in December 2014 as a Behavioral Health Consultant. She is a licensed Clinical Social worker in Maryland. Jessica attended West Virginia University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work in 2005. During graduate school Jessica worked for Valley Healthcare, providing supportive housing services to consumers with mental illness in order to enhance their ability to live independently. In 2007, she received her Masters of Social Work degree from West Virginia University, specializing in direct practice mental health. Upon graduation, Jessica was hired by the Maryland Department of Correctional Services, where she provided clinical, therapeutic, and forensic social work services in a criminal justice environment. Jessica provided individual and group counseling for inmates who needed rehabilitative intervention due to a max of behavioral, personality, and mental health factors. Jessica was born and raised in Terra Alta, West Virginia. She continues to live in the area with her husband and son.

Diana Boller joined Mountain Laurel in April of 2021 as a Behavioral Health Provider. Diana is a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker in the State of Maryland. She graduated from the University of Maryland at Baltimore with her Masters of Social Work with a Clinical Concentration in the Mental Health field of practice. Diana has worked as a social worker for over 20 years in a variety of roles including case management services and psychotherapy services to individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders. She has many years of experience working with the state of Maryland to improve various programs within the behavioral health system. Diana works with patients of all ages with a wide variety of behavioral health needs.

Angela graduated from West Virginia University in 2016 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work after having received Bachelor’s Degrees in Sociology & Anthropology and Women’s & Gender Studies in 2014. She has spent the last five years practicing social work in a variety of rural healthcare settings and is passionate about outpatient community mental health.
