Mountain Laurel Medical Center held another food giveaway on Thursday 04/29/21 at Broadford Lake Park. Over 6,000 pounds of food was distributed to local residents. This is the second distribution of the year, and these giveaways will continue throughout 2021. Priority Partners MCO and the Garrett County Health Department Health Education and Outreach team were also on-site handing out info!
“This is an ongoing effort to meet the food insecurity needs of the community. As we move forward into the year, we look to bring additional resources to the community to help address these food insecurity issues and other Social determinants of health (SDOH). Please check our social media out and your local businesses and post office display boards for the next food giveaway.” – Jonathan Dayton, Community Relations and Population Health Supervisor.
