Mountain Laurel Medical Center officially launched a new service line, Diagnostic Imaging, on July 6, 2023 at their Oakland practice located at 1027 Memorial Drive.
Through this new endeavor, Mountain Laurel Medical Center has partnered with Advanced Diagnostic Radiology in Cumberland, MD who will perform the readings of the x-rays once they are captured by the radiology technician at Mountain Laurel. With the new technology, Mountain Laurel will be able to perform routine x-ray of extremities, abdomen, back, etc. There is a changing room within the imaging suite for patient privacy and convenience. This service will be available to Mountain Laurel Medical Center patients 5 days a week, Monday-Friday with most images read within 24 hours.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sarah Call said, “We are excited to be adding x-ray imaging to our onsite services in our Oakland office. We hope this will be a convenient and timely option for many of our patients who require x-rays as part of their care plan.”
The addition of Imaging has been a strategic goal of Mountain Laurel Medical Center who remains committed to enhancing patient care and convenience. Following the Oakland location’s opening in 2009, they have since added an on-site pharmacy, an expansion wing that included 6 additional exam rooms and a lab, a dedicated Behavioral Health wing, and most recently an Imaging suite. With this newest construction project, the on-site pharmacy was also expanded to include its own waiting area and exterior entrance. Soon the organization will break ground on a 5,800 square foot Administrative Center located at the Oakland site to centralize Administrative and Operations functions including Billing, Referrals, Health Information Management, Community Outreach, Information Technology, and members of the Administrative Team.
