Mountain Laurel Medical Center is pleased to announce that Michelle Dixon, CRNP has recently been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer.

Michelle first joined the Mountain Laurel Medical Center team in June 2014 as the Nursing Supervisor and decided to further her education and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fairmont State University in 2012, completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in February 2018, and is board certified nationally by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In addition to her work at Mountain Laurel, Michelle is an active member of the Preston County community where she resides with her husband and two daughters.

Prior to her promotion, Michelle served as Mountain Laurel’s Vice President of Clinical Practice and Quality. In her new role, she will continue to collaborate with Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sarah Call to enhance Mountain Laurel’s Care Delivery model and is the lead in Mountain Laurel’s Value Based Care/Population Health models. She also has direct management of Mountain Laurel’s four clinical practice sites in Oakland, Grantsville, and Westernport, Maryland and Bruceton Mills, West Virginia.

In addition to CMO Dr. Sarah Call, Michelle serves a key role in Mountain Laurel Medical Center’s Executive Team, along with Chief Executive Officer Brian Bailey, Chief Operating Officer Sandra Moore, and Chief Financial Officer James W. Mou.

“Michelle and her team have been instrumental in expanding our care management model, leveraging our electronic health records for better reporting and outcomes, and working both as a practitioner and a leader. We are grateful for her commitment to high quality patient care and look forward to the advancements she will bring to Mountain Laurel in her new role,” said CEO Brian Bailey.

“On behalf of the Mountain Laurel Board, we are excited to have Michelle play a key role in our clinical and quality advances”, said Board Chair Nathan Walter.
